- Enhanced graphical user interface for specifying initial > conditions.
- Specification of approximate start values for non-linear systems of equations influences in an intuitive way how iteration variables are chosen. The user can thus control how the solution process is set up to get more robust handling.
- There are several improvements in the graphical user interface:
- When a model with a non-square coordinate system is created, the icon now preserves the form factor.
- The plot browser preserves the open subtrees, for example when new results are opened after repeated simulation.
- Special rendering of disabled conditional components.
- Improvement of bus modeling. It is now possible to draw a connection from an expandable connector back to itself and in the popped-up dialog re-route a bus signal to a signal with another name.
- The Model Management option has been extended with 1) routines for accessing the model structure and content from Modelica scripts, 2) model comparison and difference reporting and 3) features for testing of model libraries. The test utility include regression testing of model libraries, i.e. checking simulation results against accepted references, class coverage analysis that determines how well a test suite covers the classes in the libraries and style checking to ensure that that a library fulfills Modelica style guidelines. There is also a condition coverage test to analyze that every conditional branch in models is at least once utilized in the test cases.
- In order to help model developers to detect errors in equations, Dymola now performs variable unit checking, i.e. propagates units of expressions and checks unit compatibility of equations.
- Dymola can call external functions written in Java, both interactively from the Dymola scripting environment and from models. The Java Interface is sold separately as an option.
- Support for Windows Vista, 64-bit Windows XP, Matlab 7.3, etc.
