Release of Dymola version 4.0

Version 4.0 of Dymola was released on June 30, 1999. It supports most of the features of the Modelica specification 1.2. The Modelica language is much more powerful than the Dymola language. Dymola has an automatic tool for conversion of models written in the Dymola language to Modelica.

Release of Modelica language specification 1.2

Version 1.2 of the Modelica language specification was released on June 15, 1999.

Release of Modelica Standard Library 1.0

The first version of the free Modelica standard library was released on June 30, 1999. It contains models for drive trains and control blocks. Many other libraries are under development.

New Employee at Dynasim

Dr Hans Olsson joined Dynasim in January 1999 after attaining his Ph.D. in Numerical Analysis from Lund Institute of Technology in December 1998. His thesis was on improving solvers for stiff ODE's and DAE's by analyzing the computational process, in particular the iterations necessary to solve the system of equations in each step. In parallell with his thesis he wrote an object-oriented solver, Godess, which implements the ideas from his thesis.
